Art Wall Proposal (unbuilt), Seven Oaks General Hospital
Location: Winnipeg
Media/Materials: Wood, stainless steel, photos back-mounted on lexan, LED lighting panels, lighting automation processors and analogue output modules, push buttons.
Roles and Responsibilities: I was one of three short-listed artists for this competition.
Total Budget: $80,000
Clients: Seven Oaks General Hospital
This project was to incorporate interactivity that would be activated by visitors to the hospital, giving then some sense of control in an environment where control is generally out of their reach. Four buttons could be pressed, each of which would start a different lighting program for the backlit round photos expressing inward, outward, up or down sequences. Preprogrammed lighting sequences would fill in the gaps between visitor input.
